and we're growing that area as fast as possible.
How It Works
Choose your blinds, awnings or shutters by clicking through the site. Once you've added a product to your shopping basket,
you can click on the SHOPPING BASKET link at the top right of the page, and the website will calculate your survey and installation costs.
If you're not logged-in, the site can't calculate the costs, so it only takes a minute to provide your details by following the
REGISTER link.
How It's Priced
The Website calculates a survey cost, and an installation cost and shows you both. Regrettably, you can't have a survey
without us installing, and you can't have us install without us surveying! This is for good reason, as it allows us to keep control of the
whole job from start to finish; giving you peace of mind that the job will be done properly.
You will need to have some sizes ready to get your pricing. Check out our measuring guides to see how you should measure.
If you want us to do the survey and installation, you don't need to be 100% accurate with your measurements, but you need to be
fairly close (within a couple of centimetres).
Why We Charge For A Survey
Any blind company (or home visit service company for that matter) has to cover costs. Some companies (no names!!) say they
offer a free measure and fit service, others offer free home visits.
They want you to believe that you're getting something for nothing, but actually you will pay in other ways, usually by inflated
product prices. Often, they want to dangle-a-carrot to get a high pressure, commission based salesperson through your door.
We don't do any of that! We like to be totally transparent with you, by showing you the cost breakdown. In this way, you
can make up your own mind as to whether you want to pay to have a professional install your product, or whether you want to
have a go yourself. There is another reason also....
The Other Reason
99% of the time, we are able to fit the product a customer has ordered into the space they want it fitted into. However,
very occasionally, this is not possible, or at least in the way the customer wants it. Therefore, we a have a policy of allowing
customers to cancel their order for a refund at that point. Regrettably though, survey charges are non-refundable once we have carried
out the survey. We keep our online prices very low, and cannot afford to offer such low prices if we run the chance that we
may spend time travelling and measuring, only to then offer a full refund in the event that a customer wishes to cancel.
This method of operation keeps everything very transparent, and ensures that you only ever receive good advice, because
we won't visit you and pressure you to order something that isn't suitable, just 'because we want to complete a sale'.
The Service
When you place an order that you want measured and fitted, we will aim to visit you within 7 days. We will contact you
to arrange a suitable time. Technically speaking, we only measure within normal opening hours, however, we will try and
accommodate you if you cannot do a daytime appointment. We can discuss it at the time, and try and work around your circumstances.
Installation takes place within normal working hours also, but we are constantly working to improve this service to try and include
some out-of-hours appointments. As our online business grows, we should be able to increase the number of out-of-hours appointments
available.
