Energy Saving Blinds << Back

How would you like to save up to 15% on home energy bills? Choose energy saving fabrics and you could do just that.

Bill increase!

Over the years we have seen energy prices rise quite
significantly and as a result we have seen the domestic
energy companies rush to increase dosmestic tarrifs to
heights never reached before.

No stopping the increase in bills

British Gas has been the latest company to advise the public of an increase - a 35% increase in price this year alone! And don't we all know that proposed future energy price revisions never seem to take prices back from where they started.

Energy efficient fabrics

Our industry has spent a great deal of time and money working to convince the commercial consumer to install the correct shading systems to reduce the amount of solar gain experienced within commercial buildings thereby reducing the need and reliance on expensive to buy and operate air conditioning units.

But what about the domestic user?

How can they benefit from the correct selection of window blind systems and fabrics? Well one manufacturer has been considering this for some time now. The starting point was that if the fabrics produced featured characteristics that could reduce sola gain, then there must be a positive trade off for fabrics which can be proven to have characteristics to reduce thermal loss. A reduction on thermal loss is far more significant to domestic consumers as this can reduce the energy required to heat their homes.

Independently tested

Certain physical fabric testing has been carried out by the National Physical Laboratory to establish the performance and characteristics of the various energy saving fabrics available. In reality all fabrics will create a form of insulation at a window and the industry and most logical people would buy into that; however until now no company had set out to establish the savings available backwith credible information and figures. Not just percentage figures and formulaes, but pounds shilling and pence figures that mean something to both the blind maker and of course the final consumer

Energy efficient blinds

Perfect Fit
Perfect Fit and Intu blinds are ideal for saving energy. They sit very close to the glass, trapping a layer of air which acts as insulation. By using either a Perfect Fit or Intu blind, you'll get a blind that keeps in the heat during the winter and reflects the sun in the summer. A combination of specific materials and joining techniques help do this.

Roller
The roller blind is simply a sheet of material covering your window. If you choose from our energy saving range, the material we use will not only keep the heat in but it will also help keep the sun out during those summer months.

Vertical
Vertical blinds offer style and control. For example, if you open up the louvres of your vertical blinds you will be able to release some of the heat in your room. Close them at night time, and you'll retain that much needed heat.

conservatory
The conservatory can be the part of a house that loses the most heat. Ensure this isn't the case in you home.
We have to learn to live with a more efficient use of our resources. Handouts to subsidise our ineffcient use of fuel is not the answer.
