Pleated blinds are versatile, well designed and offer great performance. This is what makes them stand out against other window coverings. They are excellent when a dim-out effect is needed, or when you want to insulate your window.

There are many colours, to choose from, however, pleated blind fabrics are essentially split into two types... 'Single' wall fabrics, and 'Double' wall fabrics (called Cellular).

Cellular fabrics have a unique look about them, since the holes that are drilled in the fabric are not visible, which makes this fabric perfect for reducing light and because of its double wall, perfect for insulation.

Pleated blinds give us the ability to cover awkward or difficult window shapes especially in conservatories, and when combined with a reflective performance fabric they'll be sure to keep you cooler in summer, and warmer in winter.

We can make pleated blinds safe in the following ways:

  • We can make your pleated blind using a tensioned cording system, or as a PERFECT FIT blind (see Perfect Fit pages). With this method of production, there are no looped cords to worry about.
  • No cord is left longer than 150cm from the floor when the blind is in its fully down position.
  • Where a cord is made longer when pulled (ie, when you pull the blind up, the cord gets longer), we install a cord gathering cleat.
The cleat is fitted to window frame or side of the recess into the wall.
For bay windows, we fit a cord cleat on each section of the window.
  • Cord Consolidating devices are used to convert all the cords that come out of the head-rail into one cord, thus removing the possibility of a looped cord being present when the blind is in its down position.

We take child safety very seriously, please see our Child Safety Page for more information.

Freehanging Pleated Blinds

Freehanging Pleated blinds are perfect for recessed windows, where a soft and subtle look is required.

A freehanging pleated blind operates much like a roller or roman blind. You pull the cord, and the blind rises. If you release the cord, it lowers, and locks off wherever you choose to stop it.

Overhead Tensioned Pleated Blinds

Pleated roof blinds are a great way to add an extra layer of insulation to your conservatory roof, roof lantern or angled loft window.

They support themselves by a tensioned wire that runs from one side of the blind to the other, and another tensioned cord ensures that no cords need to hang down into the room, because to operate them you simply move the blind using the 'floating rail' from one side of the room to the other (if the blind is out of reach we provide an operating rod that attaches to the floating rail).

Perfect Fit Pleated Blinds

Perfect Fit blinds are he most stylish and contemporary roller, pleated and venetian blinds in the market today.

For the ultimate in style, choose Louvolite Perfect Fit® (made at our factory in Bexleyheath!) a unique fitting system that requires no drilling or screwing during installation. The pre-made frames fit perfectly into the rubber beading of you window, and fit snug against the glass which makes them look integral to the window itself.

The Perfect Fit blind system is unique because the window blind fits neatly into a stylish frame (available in various colour options), which moves together with the windows and doors when they are opened and closed giving you the perfect combination of shade and ventilation.
